Halls Creek Housing Service
The Burraluba Yurra Ngurra Housing Service, located at Lot 204 Duncan Highway in Halls Creek, is funded by the Department of Communities and managed by Nirrumbuk Aboriginal Corporation.
The service is designed to provide safe, supportive accommodation while empowering residents to sustain engagement in employment, education, or training. With a strong focus on supporting Aboriginal people, Burraluba Yurra Ngurra fosters the development of essential life skills, enabling residents to make informed decisions and build greater independence.
A range of accommodation options are available to meet diverse needs, including:
- Four (4) two-bedroom, fully self-contained family units
- Twelve (12) single units, each with a private ensuite
Residents also have access to shared facilities, including:
- Two (2) communal kitchens
- One (1) shared laundry
- One (1) recreation room
The recreation space features a comfortable lounge and BBQ area, providing a welcoming environment for residents to relax, connect, and engage with others in the community.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for accommodation, applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be engaged in full-time employment, education, training, or a combination of these
- Demonstrate a willingness to participate in a structured support program aimed at building capacity for long-term success
How We Support Residents
- Provision of safe and stable accommodation, available on both short-term and longer-term arrangements (up to a maximum of two years, subject to eligibility criteria)
- Development of individualised case management plans tailored to each resident’s needs, supporting personal growth, life skills development, and the establishment of positive routines
- Connection to relevant service providers and health professionals where additional support is required
Our Staff and Support Services
- Dedicated on-site support staff
- Ongoing assistance to promote independence and self-sufficiency
- Transport support for access to employment and training opportunities

We place strong emphasis on building and maintaining collaborative relationships with employers, training organisations, and service providers. Through effective communication and coordinated support, we aim to create clear and sustainable pathways for residents to achieve their goals.

Application Requirements
All applicants are required to provide:
- A completed application form
- A current National Police Clearance (issued within the past three months)
- Proof of income (e.g. recent payslips or Centrelink income statements)
- Proof or confirmation of enrolment or employment, including weekly commitment (days and hours)
