Nirrumbuk Aboriginal Corporation (NAC) is a Broome-based, community-driven organisation led by Aboriginal membership, predominantly from the Dampier Peninsula region north of Broome. The organisation is dedicated to strengthening the capacity of Aboriginal individuals and communities across the region.
Established in 1993, NAC is a registered Australian Public Benevolent Institution and not-for-profit organisation, with over 30 years of experience delivering meaningful and sustainable outcomes for Aboriginal people throughout the Kimberley.
Our work is centred on fostering self-sufficiency and empowerment, with a strong focus on key areas including health, housing, education, training, and employment.
Nirrumbuk is Aboriginal-owned and governed, with a Board comprising 12 Aboriginal members from Broome and the Dampier Peninsula. This leadership ensures that the organisation remains community-led, culturally grounded, and responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people it serves.

Nirrumbuk Aboriginal Corporation (NAC) is committed to strong governance practices that promote accountability, transparency, cultural integrity, and sustainable outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities across the Kimberley. Our Integrated Management System (IMS), aligned with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards, supports effective decision-making, risk management, compliance, and continual improvement.
Over the past five years, NAC has strengthened its operational processes, internal controls, document management, training, and performance monitoring systems that support services/activities including civil works, labour hire, and traffic management services. Workplace hazards, compliance obligations, and organisational performance are monitored through structured risk assessments, inspections, internal audits, and annual management reviews. Our certifications to ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 provide assurance to internal and external stakeholders that our IMS remains effective, compliant, and responsive to operational needs.
