Zac Cox
Zac is a Broome-born-and-raised teenager with a passion for motorbikes and mechanics. He recalls having a ‘fun’ childhood which consisted of riding bikes on bush tracks and spending time with his friends.
I love building things. I’ve just ordered parts from Japan for my motorbike, I’ll customise it myself before riding it with my friends.

After leaving high school in Year 9, Zac’s family encouraged him to approach Nirrumbuk. They had heard about the organisation through other members of the community, and believed it could provide him with a hands-on experience.

Nirrumbuk’s partnership with Broome Toyota resulted in an apprenticeship opportunity for Zac at the age of 16. In the short time that Zac has been in his role, he has learned skills such as inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventative maintenance such as engine tune ups and oil-changes, and conducting routine vehicle work.
Along with his 4 year apprenticeship, Zac will also pursue tertiary education at his local TAFE in 2019. His long term career aspiration is to work as a mechanic in the mining industry. Nirrumbuk will support Zac through his career development plan.

Zac is a hard worker with a good work ethic. He is always punctual and willing to learn. If he continues at this pace, in the next few years he‘ll be very successful.
